After Jerry Brown Disobeys Trump’s Direct Order, Donald Swings The Hammer Hard

Published

on

Jerry Brown has made many questionable decisions during his time as Governor in California. His state is often criticized for some of the things they do such as attempting to ban plastic straws and reducing the criminality of purposely giving someone HIV. With people like Maxine Waters working in the 43rd district and parts of California being smeared in feces and needles, it’s no wonder the massive west coast state is the center of yet another controversy.

President Donald Trump and the U.S. Treasury Department are putting the foot down on California. No more cutting corners or finding loopholes for them! It appears that California was trying to avoid the new $10,000 limit on state and local tax deductions. They were attempting this by claiming taxes are charitable donations. Not so fast, said the government!

Trump originally promised that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act would have a tax-reform package that cut some of the tax burdens for the average family of four who earns $75,000, cutting the burden of taxes by a reported $2,000. It also was supposed to increase the household income by about $4,000 through various cuts on business. The business corporate tax rate was 35%, but then slashed down to 21%, allowing companies to invest more income on their product and employees.

Breitbart reported further, stating:

“To fund part of the resulting revenue loss, the Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives limited federal deductions for state and local taxes (SALT) to $10,000 for the first time. The move hammered high income tax-payers in Democrat-dominated high-tax blue states like California, Illinois, New York and New Jersey.

According to the Tax Policy Institute, the first-time ever cap on SALT deductions was expected to generate $36.1 billion more in federal tax collections in 2018. But the pain to high-income tax-payers in California and the other so-called “deep-blue” states doubles to $74.5 billion in 2021 and almost triples to $100.4 billion by 2025.

Four days after Trump’s tax reform took effect on January 1, then-State Senate leader Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) proposed “SB-227 Education finance: Local Schools and Colleges Voluntary Contribution Fund” to allow any Californian that had more than $10,000 in state and local tax deductions to make a dollar-for-dollar charitable donation to the “California Excellence Fund” for a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit to avoid the SALT limits.

De Leon, who is running for U.S. Senate, tried to justify draining federal taxes to the San Jose Mercury News: “The Republican tax plan gives corporations and hedge-fund managers a trillion-dollar tax cut and expects California taxpayers to foot the bill,” He added, “We won’t allow California residents to be the casualty of this disastrous tax scheme.”

Although federal law allows charitable deductions for over-payment of taxes to those each year that want to donate to help pay down public debt or maintain a park under IRC § 170, the contributions must be “solely for public purposes.”

But Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin released a statement on August 23 indicating that California’s “charity” was a scheme to avoid paying federal taxes: “Congress limited the deduction for state and local taxes that predominantly benefited high-income earners to help pay for major tax cuts for American families.” He added, “The proposed rule will uphold that limitation by preventing attempts to convert tax payments into charitable contributions.”

The new U.S. Treasury-proposed rule, according to The Hill, would only allow taxpayers to claim the federal charitable deduction under “quid pro quo” guidelines for the amount of donations that exceeds the amount they received in tax credits.

As an example, if the taxpayer donated $1,000 to the California SB-227 state charity and received a 50 percent state tax credit, the taxpayer would only be able to claim a federal charitable deduction of $500, according to the Treasury Secretary.

Mnuchin emphasized that the Treasury Department has projected that 90 percent of U.S. taxpayers that do not file tax returns with standard deductions will not be impacted by the SALT limits. The 5 percent of U.S. taxpayers who file itemized returns with income tax deductions above the $10,000 will be unable to exploit the charitable deduction to avoid the SALT cap.”

If people want to keep talking about the taxes, then let them. As long as people play by the rules and businesses invest in their employees, then the working Americans will benefit.

If Trump cuts the tax rates from 35% to 21%, then that’s amazing and gives businesses 14% of their income back to their company. That was money that was taken by the government, proving that taxation is indeed theft. There’s no reason why a large business should ever pay more than a third in taxes. In fact, no one should.

If you live in a Democrat-controlled city, then what are your taxes like? Does your mayor tax you like crazy? Mine does. Philadelphia’s Mayor Kenney seems like he taxes his own taxes sometimes. We have a sugary drink tax in Philadelphia that has put people nearly out of business, hurting the small business owners who run corner stores in the city.

We can’t complain that taxation is theft and then not be happy with a 35% to 21% tax break. Anyone who isn’t happy with that might need to rethink their train of thought.

Getting back 14% more of your income means you can spend less time finding loopholes and more time improving your business.

Democrats Just Set Washington Swamp On Fire With Supreme Court Confession

Published

on

At the very last moment on the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings for his appointment to the Supreme Court, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) produced a letter from an alleged victim who was claiming that she was sexually assaulted by Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh has ardently denied this and the whole story is just full of holes and unfounded accusations meant to stall his nomination.

Professor Christina Blasey Ford and the Democrats have caused a national outcry over their machinations here concerning an alleged incident that occurred 36 years ago while Kavanaugh and Ford were in high school. It is more than highly suspicious that this woman would show up now and with no attendant evidence or witnesses who are willing to confirm her accusation.

In fact, at least one witness is saying that this never even happened. The man identified as the witness in an alleged sexual assault by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in the 1980s is claiming he has “no memory” of the incident.

“I did not ask to be involved in this matter nor did anyone ask me to be involved,” Mark Judge, a former high school friend, and classmate of Kavanaugh said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. “The only reason I’m involved is because Dr. Christine Blasey Ford remembers me as the other person in the room during the alleged assault.”

“I have no memory of the alleged incident,” Judge said in a statement. “Brett Kavanaugh and I were friends in high school but I do not recall the party described in Ford’s letter. More to the point, I never saw Brett act in the manner Dr. Ford describes.”

Ford can’t seem to remember any specifics of the incident either. She can’t recall the exact year, where it happened or even who exactly was present at the time. She also doesn’t know how she got there or how she got home and she doesn’t know who threw the party. Sounds less than credible to me.

It will also not surprise you that Ford is a Democrat who has marched against President Trump. She is also opposed to Kavanaugh on political grounds.

Sixty-five women who knew Judge Kavanaugh in high school are now speaking up for his character. They have written a letter supporting Kavanaugh to the Senate Judiciary Committee defending his character. The letter stated that Judge Kavanaugh has always “treated women with respect.”

From the Patriot Journal:

“But many on the Left do not care about these facts and have already decided that Kavanaugh is guilty.

“They are now demanding that Kavanaugh’s nomination be denied, despite the fact that in America we have a right to due process and the presumption of innocence.

“Interestingly, not all on the Left seem convinced that Ford’s story is accurate, and one prominent Democrat just outright admitted that she doesn’t know if Ford is telling the truth.

“There you have it. If Senator Feinstein really thought this claim of Ford’s were true, she would have released Ford’s letter when she received it months ago.

“Instead Feinstein sat on this information and released it at the 11th hour in a desperate attempt to stop Kavanaugh from being nominated.

“Feinstein also stated that Ford “did not want to go public” with her accusation, further casting doubt on Ford’s credibility.

“For his part, Kavanaugh is stating he has never even met his accuser.”

Feinstein can’t have it both ways here. On the one hand, she accuses Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct, while stating that she can’t vouch for everything Ford is saying as truthful. Obviously, Feinstein knows it isn’t or would not be confessing her doubt here. Her statement did set the Washington swamp on fire though.

This is very reminiscent of the Clarence Thomas mess when he had to go through his hearings to become a Supreme Court Justice. Anita Hill accused Justice Thomas of sexual harassment during his confirmation hearing back in 1991. She claimed it happened years before that though… not decades like Ford is stretching for here. This is sheer desperation and obstructionism on the Democrats’ part.

Thomas was painted as some kind of monster back then with lies and contradictions. But it didn’t stick and Thomas is now arguably the strongest constitutional originalist on the Supreme Court.

I expect Kavanaugh will be confirmed before the midterm elections. Grassley has offered a public or private hearing to Ford. At first, she refused, then she insisted on an FBI investigation and now she is demanding more witnesses. The ones I have heard are not doing her any favors but who knows who could be dredged up and convinced into saying whatever here.

Let’s hope that Ford follows Hill into disgraced obscurity. Kavanaugh does not deserve this unwarranted attack and the Democrats should be deeply ashamed over this.

Feinstein Just Caught On Hot Mic Making Huge Admission About Rape Accuser – It’s OVER!

It seems the Democrats’ last-ditch Hail Mary plot to delay the confirmation of Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh may be a complete bust. As the left continues to spew vile, if predictable, accusations, making every attempt to delay the nomination in the hopes that the 2018 midterm elections in November somehow, someway produce the results they desire, they keep fighting to regain Congressional control.

Now the angry left is demanding that a Monday hearing on the allegations against Kavanaugh be delayed until the FBI has a chance to investigate. Turncoat Republicans (on whom the Dems had been depending for votes) proceeded to withdraw their support and fell in line after Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley declared that he would not honor the Democrats’ request.

Grassley is refusing to delay Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing, currently scheduled for Thursday. This comes after lawyers for Palo Alto University professor Christine Blasey Ford, who claims Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her more than 35-years-ago back in high school, stated their client is not willing to testify or appear at Monday’s hearing.

Blasey Ford claims a hazy recollection of the incident.

She freely admits she does not specifically remember the year the supposed incident happened, where the incident occurred, whose house it was in, how she got there, and whether Kavanaugh and a witness – who denies Blasey Ford’s account in totality mind you – were already upstairs when she went up, or even how she got home on the night in question.

Sounds like a story with holes in it large enough to drive a truck through… yet Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) passed a letter bearing this vague and less-than-credible account of an alleged sexual assault some 36 years prior to the FBI demanding an investigation.

A letter that is believed to have been in Feinstein’s possession for more than six weeks in which she failed to turn it over for an immediate investigation, choosing instead to wait until the last minute of a highly contentious confirmation hearing.

Now Feinstein finds herself in a real conundrum when she was caught on a hot mic with some bombshell truths about Blasey Ford.

After a lone reporter accosted Feinstein coming out of her Senate office, the 85-year-old Senator stated late yesterday afternoon: “I have no say, I’m the lead Democrat. … I think it’s really too bad that no one called [Christine Ford], or called her lawyer,” Feinstein said.

Feinstein then slipped up big time, admitting: “This is a woman who has been profoundly impacted by this. Now, I can’t say everything’s truthful. I don’t know. But I do know that you’ve got to contact her lawyers.”

Did Feinstein have a senior moment? Or has she simply told so many lies that she has gotten confused with exactly what the truth is? She has no idea if this woman, Blasey Ford, is credible or even being truthful regarding her accusations of rape?

It seems the biggest lie of all is Democrats’ listing Blasey Ford as credible when in fact her accusations of rape have simply fallen apart. CNN and MSNBC are leading the charge as they rail at Feinstein in confusion and rage. They reported this as case closed and Kavanaugh is guilty until proven innocent, and even then? Maybe not.

Former Senator Barabra Boxer said on MSNBC, “This woman is to be believed. You can believe Dr. Ford. This was attempted rape. And this is a woman who exhibits, Dr. Ford, courage, but the classic signs of post-traumatic stress.”

Kavanaugh has denied Ford’s allegations and insisted he did not attend the party where the physical assault allegedly took place. Patrick Smyth, a fellow former Georgetown Prep student whom Ford alleges was also in attendance during the party issued a statement via his lawyer standing up for Kavanaugh.

In a separate letter to Grassley and Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, not only does Smyth repudiate Ford’s allegations, but he adds that he does not remember this party ever even taking place.

The Washington Examiner reports:

“There are multiple parts of Ford’s story that needs to be heavily scrutinized — the fact that the only alleged witness to the event denies it, the lack of evidence except for a therapist’s note that doesn’t name Kavanaugh and isn’t evidence from the time of the alleged event. She doesn’t remember much of the day except for the attack — she can’t recall when it happened, but believes it was the summer of 1982, nor can she recall how she got to the party, how she got home, or whose house she was in. She also discredits part of the therapist’s note that says four boys were in the room during the attack and now claims it was only two, a key detail that she chalks up to an error on the part of the therapist. Her only other piece of evidence is lie detector test results, which is junk science and inadmissible in court.

“In the Washington Post, Ford claimed that too many years had passed and she couldn’t remember the details, which is somewhat understandable. Yet it does still cast some level of doubt on her accusation as does her affiliation with left-wing political organizations and a letter from the American Civil Liberties Union she signed opposing Trump’s immigration policy.

“The doubt in Ford’s story is especially strong given that it follows no pattern. Kavanaugh has never been accused of sexual misconduct in the past and has led an exemplary life both professionally and privately.

“Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., also should be scrutinized for holding on to the records for weeks before revealing them and handing them over to the FBI. According to a report by the New Yorker, Feinstein’s staff believed the incident was “too long ago to merit a public discussion,” but may have changed their mind at a more politically opportune time.”
