Kim Jong-un arrived and the scene went absolutely insane. Many didn’t expect this to happen, but from the moment he put his foot on the ground, it was like chaos! However, it might have been good chaos as the people who were breaking out in their chaos were actually chanting for the North Korean leader. It was a sight that many wouldn’t have expected after all these years of North Korea facing scrutiny for their actions. Now that talks of peace are coming along, it seems like people are responding positively to the arrival of Jong-un, which is a major break from the past experiences people may have been used to.
Once North Korea and South Korea confirm they’re fully at peace, then that will be a game-changing historic moment in history that will be written about in social studies textbooks. Finally, students will have a reason to really purchase that new textbook edition!
The chaos was caught on camera when Kim Jong-un arrived and it can be seen below.

“Several worlds will collide in Singapore this week.
Not only is the Asian city playing host to the first meeting of President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, but several key retail executives will also be meeting close by for the Consumer Goods Forum, which kicks off on Tuesday.
The four-day event is being held at one of Singapore’s most luxurious and famous resorts, the Marina Bay Sands, which includes a hotel, mall, casino, and several bars and restaurants.
It’s the very same place where Kim Jong Un was spotted arriving on Monday evening. The North Korean leader was greeted by loud cheering as he entered the hotel’s lobby downstairs before possibly heading to its rooftop bar on the 57th floor. While Kim isn’t staying at the hotel, he’ll be only 15 minutes away at The St. Regis.
On Wednesday, Marina Bay Sands is expected to be full of retail executives from companies including Coca-Cola, Colgate, L’Oréal, and Alibaba. Each evening, attendees from the conference will be meeting to socialize.
Coca-Cola will be hosting a cocktail party on Wednesday. The CEO and president of the company, James Quincey, will be speaking at the conference.”
There they go chanting “Mr. Kim! Mr. Kim!” When was the last time that anyone expected to hear cheers for the leader of North Korea? This is a bright new day in history as things seem to be heading towards peace and ending a conflict that lasted so many years that our grandparents were young.
Reuters also wrote more on the arrival:
“SINGAPORE (Reuters) – Reclusive North Korean leader Kim Jong Un went on an evening tour of Singapore on Monday, posing with city-state officials at a tropical garden before visiting an infinity pool atop a landmark waterfront hotel, to the surprise of guests.
Kim arrived in Singapore on Sunday for a historic summit with U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday aimed at getting North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons and missiles in exchange for economic incentives and security guarantees.
The young North Korean leader is staying under heavy guard at a city centre hotel and had not appeared in public on Monday until about 9 p.m., when one of his security officials buzzing about the hotel lobby shouted “It’s all ready!”.
Reuters staff around the city tracked his motorcade, which included bus loads of security personnel and aides, escorted by dozens of Singapore police officers on motorbikes.
His first stop was a park with futuristic, tree-shaped installations, Gardens by the Bay, which also boasts the largest glass greenhouse and tallest indoor waterfall in the world.
He joined Singapore’s foreign minister, Vivian Balakrishnan, who tweeted a selfie with a smiling Kim and Singapore Education Minister Ong Ye Kung, against a backdrop of flowers with the hashtag #Guesswhere.
Kim then stopped at the Marina Bay Sands hotel, which resembles a giant surfboard perched on three tall columns, for a look out over the bright city lights from its rooftop garden and infinity swimming pool.
Surprised guests enjoying the relative cool of the tropical evening took pictures of a waving Kim with their cameraphones.
On the way back to his hotel, Kim walked along a promenade near the Merlion, a giant statue, and fountain, of a mythical creature, half lion, half fish – Singapore’s unofficial mascot.
Kim’s trip to Singapore is his furthest journey he has made since taking power in late 2011 upon his father’s d***h.
He has made two trips to China since March to meet President Xi Jinping, and held summit talks with South Korean President Moon Jae-in in April and May in the Demilitarized Zone, which separates the two Koreas.
His excursion out of the hotel caused a big stir with guests who were told to get behind a barricade while dozens of North Korean security men and Singapore police officers and government officials blocked off the lobby.
“Oh my God, is Kim Jong Un coming?” shouted one guest, shortly before he appeared to set off for his evening jaunt.”
What do you think about this? Is this a good thing to see so much positive energy with the leader of North Korea?
