President Bush Took FIRM Stand On Kavanaugh And People Are Furious About What He Had To Say

Published

on

Controversy regarding Judge Kavanaugh during the past few weeks has exploded. Everyone is divided into their own sides of the aisle. The opinion of one high profile politician could sway public opinion in a different direction, though.

The Daily Caller reported,

“Former President George W. Bush still supports Brett Kavanaugh after the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on sexual assault accusations against the Supreme Court nominee. Politico asked Bush on Thursday if he still supports Kavanaugh’s nomination.

“Yes, he does,” Freddy Ford, Bush’s chief of staff, said. Dr. Christine Blasey Ford testified on Thursday that Kavanaugh groped her and held his hand over her mouth at a high school party in the summer of 1982. Kavanaugh categorically denied the allegation and accused Democrats of conducting a coordinated smear against him.

In addition to his on the record support, Bush is also reportedly whipping votes for Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Jeff Flake of Arizona, and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska have all received calls from Bush in recent days urging them to support Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh served as an associate counsel in the White House and then staff secretary during Bush’s presidency. When Kavanaugh was first accused of sexual misconduct by Ford, Bush said, “Laura [Bush] and I have known and respected Brett Kavanaugh for decades, and we stand by our comments the night Judge Kavanaugh was nominated: ‘He is a fine husband, father, and friend — and a man of the highest integrity.’”

Business Insider reported,

“According to The Post, in recent days, Bush has contacted at least some of the senators seen as swing votes — Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin and Republican Sens. Susan Collins, Jeff Flake, and Lisa Murkowski — to discuss their votes as Kavanaugh faces multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

The Post’s report suggests Bush decided to contact the senators because they’re less likely to be swayed by President Donald Trump. The report indicates Bush called the senators before Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused him of sexually assaulting her when they were teenagers in the 1980s, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Flake announced on Friday that he would vote to confirm Kavanaugh. Shortly after releasing his statement, Flake was confronted by survivors of sexual assault as he headed to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Kavanaugh worked for Bush during the 2000 presidential-election recount in Florida. Three years later, Bush nominated Kavanaugh into the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. Kavanaugh was Bush’s White House staff secretary until 2006, while his confirmation to the court was delayed. Bush voiced his support for Kavanaugh in July when Trump tapped the judge as his choice for the Supreme Court seat.

“He is a fine husband, father, and friend — and a man of the highest integrity,” Bush said of Kavanaugh. “He will make a superb Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.” Bush reaffirmed his support of Kavanaugh after Ford’s allegation surfaced, saying he and his wife “stand by our comments.”

Kavanaugh has denied the allegations of sexual misconduct against him. The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday heard hours of emotional testimony from Ford and Kavanaugh. The Senate is expected to vote on his confirmation on Friday afternoon.”

Judge Kavanaugh’s history with the president goes way back. After he finished his clerkship in the Supreme Court he worked with Ken Starr in 1997 as Associate Counsel in the Office of the Independent Counsel. Some of his colleagues included the likes of Alex Azar and Rod Rosenstein.

While at the White House he dealt with many different types of constitutional and legal issues. He even partook in the investigation into the death of Vincent Foster. During this investigation, Kavanaugh was criticized for investing money that came from the federal government into investigations of so-called conspiracy theories that were partisan.

Several years later in December 2000, Judge Kavanaugh started working with President Bush regarding the ballot recount issues in Florida. Shortly thereafter, he was brought on as an associate by the White House Counsel, who at the time was Alberto Gonzales.

He worked on the scandal surrounding Enron, the nomination of now Supreme Couty Justice John Roberts, as well as the nomination process of Miguel Estrada which was ultimately unsuccessful. A few years later, he started serving as an Assistant to the President and the White House Staff Secretary. He had succeeded Harriet Miers.

President Bush eventually nominated Judge Kavanaugh to the United States Court of Appeals in Washington D.C. The vacancy was created by Judge Laurence Silberman. For over three years his nomination was stalled in the Senate. Senator Dick Durban called him the Forrest Gump of Republican politics and accused him of being too partisan. Not much has changed since then in that regard.

Share if you think it says a lot that the former president is continuing to advocate for Judge Kavanaugh.

Share if you think Judge Kavanaugh is innocent.

Share if you think this whole process has been a disgrace.

Amazing how this happens mere weeks before the midterm elections.

Time to put military on full alert and stationed at the border. This is an invasion and needs to be stopped in its tracks AT the border.

Stop the invasion!

From The Gateway Pundit:

On Wednesday, the caravan of mostly Honduran migrants exploded to a whopping 4,000 people as it approached the Mexico-Guatemala border, despite President Trump’s warnings to cut off U.S. aid.

The Mexican government flooded the Mexico-Guatemala border with hundreds of police officers in anticipation of a stand off with the migrants.

President Trump meant business when he issued a strong warning to Honduran President Hernandez Tuesday over the migrant caravan marching northbound to United States.

The organizer of the caravan, Bartolo Fuentes was detained in Guatemala Tuesday and it was reported Honduran migrants had splintered off into smaller groups in order to travel undetected as they made their trek to the Mexican border. Reuters reported late Tuesday that some Honduran migrants had headed back to Honduras, however; it appears the caravan has grown as it make its way through Guatemala.

The Associate Press reported Wednesday that the Hondurans were spotted in Chiquimula, Guatemala marching through rain, determined to make it the Mexican border.

Because the migrant caravan has grown to over 4,000 people, the Mexican government has sent an additional 500 police to its border with Guatemala, reported NBC News.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will be traveling to Mexico on Friday to discuss plans to stop the caravan.

A caravan of migrants fleeing Honduras has grown to 4,000 and the Mexican government has sent an additional 500 federal police to its border with Guatemala in anticipation of their arrival, according to U.S. government documents obtained by NBC News.

Part of the caravan, which has split into two groups, is now approaching the Mexico-Guatemala border amidst a surge in border crossings on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will travel to Mexico to meet with his counterparts on Friday, where plans to stop the caravan will be a “prominent” topic of discussion, according to a senior State Department official who spoke to reporters on Wednesday.

“I am certain that there will be conversations in Mexico about how we can work together on this issue,” the official said about the caravan. “We are certainly looking for concrete results and for solutions that work for both countries.”

President Trump didn’t even wait until the caravan of Hondurans reached Mexico before issuing a very stern warning to the Honduran president on Tuesday threatening to cut U.S. aid immediately!

The President’s fury continued into late Tuesday evening as he fired off another pair of tweets putting Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador on notice.

Anyone entering illegally will be arrested and detained prior to being sent back to their country, President Trump said.

Trump’s HAD IT: Urged Every American To Start Praying Now

As the Democrats continue to play a disgusting con-game in their efforts to destroy an innocent man and his family President Donald Trump has suggested people do what the left in this country despises most of all.

In an effort to once again defend his nominee for the United States Supreme Court the president has taken to Twitter to suggest that people do what’s inexcusable in the liberal playbook. To actually pray for Brett Kavanaugh and his family at this time when the left is showing more than ever what their true colors really are.

“Pray for Brett Kavanaugh and his family!” Trump wrote on Twitter, denouncing Democrats for trying to destroy Kavanaugh.

As reported on The Gateway Pundit the following is a transcript by pool reporter Nancy Cook with Politico of a recent question and answer session with the president. He said the following:

“I think he is just a wonderful human being. I think it is horrible what the Democrats have done. It is a con game, they are really con artists. They are trying to convince they don’t bite, they don’t believe it themselves They know he is a high-quality person, they don’t believe it, it is just resist and obstruct. They are playing a con game, and they are playing it very well, much better than Republicans.

“They are lousy politicians, they have lousy policy, they don’t know what the hell they are doing. They want to get rid of ICE, they want to get rid of law enforcement, they don’t want to take care of our military, they want to raise your taxes, but they are good at one thing. That is obstruction and con [Trump’s voice starts to sound angry here].

“He is one of the highest quality people. He said when he was focused on being No. 1 in his class at Yale, to me, that was so believable. I understand college very well, being number 1 in your class, I understand a lot of things. When he said that, I understood exactly. He was so truthful. But for the Democrats to be trying to make him into something–lets be nice about it: Something he is not.

“This isn’t his footing, he’s never been here before. He’s never had any charges like this, charges come up from 36 years ago that are totally unsubstantiated. I mean, you, as a president of a great country, Columbia, I mean how is this possible 36 years ago?…and now a new charge comes up and she says it may not be him and there are gaps. And she was totally inebriated and all messed up, and she doesn’t know. It might have been him, or it might have been him. Gee, let’s not make him a Supreme Court judge.

“This is a con game being played by the Democrats. These are the same lawyers who have been fighting for years. It is a shame you can do this to a person’s life. I’ll tell you: Maybe even more important, who is going to want to go before the system to be a Supreme Court judge or even a politician?

“I can tell you that false accusations of all type are made against a lot of people. This is a high-quality person, and it would be a horrible insult to our country if this doesn’t happen. And it’ll be a horrible, horrible thing for future political people. It cannot be allowed to happen. And the Democrats are playing a con game, C-O-N.

“Q: Should the second accuser be allowed to testify?

“Trump: The second accuser doesn’t even know, she thinks maybe it could have been him, maybe not. Admits she was drunk. She admits time lapses, this is a person, and this is a series of statements that is going to take one of the most talented intellects from a judicial standpoint in our country keep him off the U.S. Supreme Court?

“He has the chance to be one of the greatest justices in the United States Supreme Court. What a shame. His wife is devastated, his children are devastated. I don’t mean, “Oh gee, I am a little unhappy”. They are devastated. And it is because of these Democrats.”

If there is one thing this whole Kavanaugh saga has taught us it is that the left has no scruples whatsoever and let us hope and pray their own side sees this. And let’s also hope that out of this comes a renewed vigor by the right to go out and vote since we know all too well the right tends to get complacent and “forget” to vote on election day.

This upcoming midterm election is perhaps the most important of our lifetimes. And we just can’t hand over this great nation to the “mob rule” mentality the left in this nation is starting to display. Don’t you agree?
