The Trump administration has made it a priority to crack down on crime. Whether it is illegal immigration, violent crime, welfare, fraud, or the numerous other crimes out there. However, nobody expected for the Attorney General to take such sweeping action to crack down on it and so quickly. Which is why the latest announcement by the Department of Justice regarding 601 American citizens being charged en masse is absolutely intense.
The Department of Justice recently announced the following during a press statement:
“Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex M. Azar III, announced today the largest ever health care fraud enforcement action involving 601 charged defendants across 58 federal districts, including 165 doctors, nurses and other licensed medical professionals, for their alleged participation in health care fraud schemes involving more than $2 billion in false billings. Of those charged, 162 defendants, including 76 doctors, were charged for their roles in prescribing and distributing opioids and other dangerous narcotics. Thirty state Medicaid Fraud Control Units also participated in today’s arrests. In addition, HHS announced today that from July 2017 to the present, it has excluded 2,700 individuals from participation in Medicare, Medicaid, and all other Federal health care programs, which includes 587 providers excluded for conduct related to opioid diversion and abuse.
Attorney General Sessions and Secretary Azar were joined in the announcement by Acting Assistant Attorney General John P. Cronan of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, Deputy Director David L. Bowdich of the FBI, Assistant Administrator John Martin of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Deputy Inspector General Gary Cantrell of the HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG), Deputy Chief Eric Hylton of IRS Criminal Investigation (CI), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Deputy Administrator and Director of the Center for Program Integrity Alec Alexander and Director Dermot F. O’Reilly of the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS).
Today’s enforcement actions were led and coordinated by the Criminal Division, Fraud Section’s Health Care Fraud Unit in conjunction with its Medicare Fraud Strike Force (MFSF) partners, a partnership between the Criminal Division, U.S. Attorney’s Offices, the FBI and HHS-OIG. In addition, the operation includes the participation of the DEA, DCIS, IRS-CI, Department of Labor, other various federal law enforcement agencies, and State Medicaid Fraud Control Units.
The charges announced today aggressively target schemes billing Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE (a health insurance program for members and veterans of the armed forces and their families), and private insurance companies for medically unnecessary prescription drugs and compounded medications that often were never even purchased and/or distributed to beneficiaries. The charges also involve individuals contributing to the opioid epidemic, with a particular focus on medical professionals involved in the unlawful distribution of opioids and other prescription narcotics, a particular focus for the Department. According to the CDC, approximately 115 Americans d*e every day of an opioid-related overdose.
“Health care fraud is a betrayal of vulnerable patients, and often it is theft from the taxpayer,” said Attorney General Sessions. “In many cases, doctors, nurses, and pharmacists take advantage of people suffering from drug addiction in order to line their pockets. These are despicable crimes. That’s why this Department of Justice has taken historic new steps to go after fraudsters, including hiring more prosecutors and leveraging the power of data analytics. Today the Department of Justice is announcing the largest health care fraud enforcement action in American history. This is the most fraud, the most defendants, and the most doctors ever charged in a single operation—and we have evidence that our ongoing work has stopped or prevented billions of dollars’ worth of fraud. I want to thank our fabulous partners with the FBI, DEA, our Health Care Fraud task forces, HHS, the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, IRS Criminal Investigation, Medicare, and especially the more than 1,000 federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement officers from across America who made this possible. By every measure we are more effective at finding and prosecuting medical fraud than ever.”
“Every dollar recovered in this year’s operation represents not just a taxpayer’s hard-earned money—it’s a dollar that can go toward providing healthcare for Americans in need,” said HHS Secretary Azar. “This year’s Takedown Day is a significant accomplishment for the American people, and every public servant involved should be proud of their work.”
According to court documents, the defendants allegedly participated in schemes to submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, and private insurance companies for treatments that were medically unnecessary and often never provided. In many cases, patient recruiters, beneficiaries and other co-conspirators were allegedly paid cash kickbacks in return for supplying beneficiary information to providers, so that the providers could then submit fraudulent bills to Medicare. Collectively, the doctors, nurses, licensed medical professionals, health care company owners and others charged are accused of submitting a total of over $2 billion in fraudulent billings. The number of medical professionals charged is particularly significant, because virtually every health care fraud scheme requires a corrupt medical professional to be involved in order for Medicare or Medicaid to pay the fraudulent claims. Aggressively pursuing corrupt medical professionals not only has a deterrent effect on other medical professionals, but also ensures that their licenses can no longer be used to bilk the system.
“Healthcare fraud touches every corner of the United States and not only costs taxpayers money, but also can have deadly consequences,” said FBI Deputy Director Bowdich. “Through investigations across the country, we have seen medical professionals putting greed above their patients’ well-being and trusted doctors fanning the flames of the opioid crisis. I want to thank the agents, analysts and our law enforcement partners in every field office who work each unacceptable to stop these criminals and hold them accountable for their actions.”
Considering the support that President Trump has been giving to local communities and states to fight the opioid epidemic this latest development is not shocking. It is not just poor lower class Americans who were targeted here, everyone was. Including doctors who prescribe opioids and fraudulently charge for services and prescribe drugs that do not need to. Hopefully, this will send a strong message to everyone out that that social services like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are not to be scammed and taken advantage of. They are there to give people a hand up and not a handout. No longer will the White House stand idly by why people perpetuate fraud against the federal government with these benefits.
This type of fraud is something that is an incredible drain on the American taxpayer. While every day average Americans struggle to pay their bills and deal with unprecedented taxes others are taking advantage of the system and the American people. The president and his departmental agencies understand that cracking down on this crime is an act on behalf of the American people.

Share if you believe that Attorney General Jeff Sessions did the right thing.
Share if you think that the criminals should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Suspect From ‘Extremist Muslim’ Compound Lived In US Illegally For Over 20 years -THEY FOUND EVERYTHING!
The situation just got even more shocking.
More devastating news has been revealed involving one of the five suspects who was arrested at the filthy extremist Muslim compound in New Mexico. The bust involved multiple children being held as if they were living in dire starvation, being trained as school shooters, and now we’re learning more about one of the suspects living at that compound.
Her name is Jany Leveille, she’s 35, and she was detained by ICE. She was living in America illegally for over 20 years. She will soon face a judge to discuss her immigration status, which could end up in her being deported. However, many would like to see her serve jail time as they believe a punishment should be served. Just sending her back to her home country may be nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Of course, if she serves a prison sentence there, then that would be acceptable. Crimes against children should not be tolerated.
This is yet another reason why President Trump and many presidents before him, such as Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, have wanted to take a strong stand on immigration reform and people following the law. Even Hillary Clinton at times has spoken out about illegal immigration, but somehow her followers are fighting against Trump as he talks about the potential for a border wall.
MSN provided more specific details on the immigration status of the person involved:
“One of five suspects arrested at an “extremist Muslim” compound in northern New Mexico is originally from Haiti — and has lived in the U.S. illegally for more than 20 years, federal officials said Wednesday.
“Jany Leveille, 35, was detained by immigration officials Tuesday and soon must appear before a judge to resolve her immigration status, which could lead to her deportation, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials said in a statement.
“’Leveille has been unlawfully present in the U.S. for more than 20 years after overstaying the validity of her non-immigrant visitor visa,” ICE said.
“Leveille moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., from Haiti in 1998 after her father died, Von Cehelet Leveille, the woman’s brother, told Reuters. She has moved several times since coming to the U.S., living in Georgia, Philadelphia and New York after separating from her husband, the brother said.
“Leveille lived at the New Mexico compound with her current husband Siraj Ibn Wahhaj and their children since January, prosecutors said. She has six children, ages 1 to 15, her brother told Reuters.
“The couple and two others were arrested during an Aug. 4 raid. Wahhaj was still being held on an outstanding warrant from Georgia, while the two others remained in custody.
“The children discovered at the compound earlier this month were both trained to use firearms and taught multiple tactical techniques in order to k**l teachers, law enforcement officers and other representatives of institutions they found corrupt, state prosecutors said on Monday.
“Three-year-old Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj, who had been missing since December, allegedly died amid a ritualistic religious ceremony held on the grounds in an effort to “cast out demonic spirits,” Reuters reported.”
Violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants is nothing new. In fact, it seems to be one of the main reasons that people are so adamant about the immigration laws being protected. Why should people be allowed into the country if they’re simply going to commit heinous crimes? America has enough crime of its own with our own citizens, so the last thing we need is someone coming here to commit more crimes. Of course, they’re probably milking the welfare system too, thus being a burden on our government and the taxpayers.
Some of the most horrible crimes committed involve an illegal alien beating an elderly woman, a man protected by sanctuary city status raping a child, and now this crime that involves holding kids like prisoners in squalid conditions.
Consider these types of crimes and the fact that the people from the New Mexico compound were performing a ghetto style exorcism trying to “cast out demonic spirits” from a child, who was then found deceased, and you can see why people want to deport illegal immigrants. For every good person out there, there’s a few of the criminal type who ruin it for everyone. Had they followed the law and laid low, then no one would really know about them.
With all of that going on, we haven’t even touched on drug smuggling, but that’s a big business that won’t ever stop. There’s no reason to continue a war on drugs. May as well call it population control at this point. That’s another discussion for another day.
How can President Trump get his border wall funded? If he cut welfare to immigrants who are able-bodied and available for work, then would he have enough money to fund his wall?
That remains to be seen. There’s a lot of paper that needs to be pushed around before things like that ever take place. It’s not one of those overnight kind of things, but maybe it should be.
Couple Bikes Through Middle East to Prove People Are Kind, ISIS Decided To Butcher Them
This is the result of a liberal mindset.
People are not always what they seem to be and there is a lot of evil out in the world. It seems an increasingly dangerous place these days. My personal opinion is that evil is not a complexity of humans, but instead a state of being for which an individual is responsible for. Unfortunately, a young, idealistic American couple decided to bike through the Middle East to prove to people how kind others are and instead learned just how very wrong they were. There are some mistakes you don’t come back from.
Jay Austin and Lauren Geoghegan, both 29, decided last year that they had had it with the daily grind and they quit their office jobs in Washington, DC. They then decided on taking the trip of a lifetime; a cycling trip around the world. Austin was a vegan who worked for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and Geoghegan was a vegetarian who worked in the Georgetown University admissions office. These young altruistic liberals decided that they were wasting their lives working.
“There’s magic out there, in this great big beautiful world,” wrote Jay Austin who, along with his partner, Lauren Geoghegan, gave his two weeks’ notice last year before shipping his bicycle to Africa.
“I’ve grown tired of spending the best hours of my day in front of a glowing rectangle, of coloring the best years of my life in swaths of grey and beige,” Austin wrote on his blog before he quit. “I’ve missed too many sunsets while my back was turned. Too many thunderstorms went unwatched, too many gentle breezes unnoticed.” Noble sentiments unfortunately not shared by those he would soon encounter.
The young couple kept records of their year-long foray on Instagram and on a blog. According to the New York Times, they shared “the openheartedness they wanted to embody and the acts of kindness reciprocated by strangers.”
“You read the papers and you’re led to believe that the world is a big, scary place,” Austin wrote. “People, the narrative goes, are not to be trusted. People are bad. People are evil. I don’t buy it,” he went on. “Evil is a make-believe concept we’ve invented to deal with the complexities of fellow humans holding values and beliefs and perspectives different than our own… By and large, humans are kind. Self-interested sometimes, myopic sometimes, but kind. Generous and wonderful and kind.”
I wish that were always true. This couple’s fatal mistake was to believe their own prose about the nature of some humans in parts of some of the darkest places on the planet.
The tragic end for these two liberal dreamers came after they arrived in Tajikistan. That country faces a threat of terrorism and is near northern Afghanistan, which has a significant ISIS presence. They weren’t biking directly through ISIS territory, but in the end, it didn’t matter. As they rode their bikes on July 29th, a car rammed them, according to CBS News. Five ISIS members jumped out of the car and then proceeded to stab the couple to d***h. They also k****d two other cyclists, one from Switzerland and the other from the Netherlands.
Just two days later, ISIS claimed credit by releasing a video that showed these same men posing in front of the group’s black Jihadist flag. They stared into the camera and vowed to k**l “disbelievers.” There is little doubt it was indeed ISIS that took their lives. This could have happened anywhere, but the Middle East is prone to such attacks. It is not a safe place as many mistakenly believe. But then again, neither is Chicago.
From the New York Times:
“In the video released by the Islamic State after the couple’s d***h, the men pledging allegiance to the group can be seen sitting on a stone slab, an aquamarine lake partly visible over their left shoulders. It’s the kind of panorama that the young couple might have stopped to capture and post on their blog.
“But in the clip, when these men point to the scenery around them, they vow to slaughter the “disbelievers” who have overrun their land.”
This is the result of a liberal mindset that cannot come to terms with violent reality. There are those that wish to hurt others and that have evil intentions. It falls to each of us to protect ourselves and each other.
This is why conservatives believe in the Second Amendment so strongly. It’s also why the left calling to abolish ICE, their stance against police and their wild swing into unfettered socialism is patently insane. This couple learned how wrong they were too late. Hopefully, America as a whole will learn to face reality before we face a similar fate as a nation.
Don’t get me wrong. There is a great good in the world. But there is also great evil. Unfortunately for this couple, the latter found them.
