Two Names Floated As Possible Replacement For Jeff Sessions…

Published

It will be interesting to see who President Trump picks. Maybe Trump will may make the acting AG the permanent AG. We shall see what happens.

I’m sure anyone will be better than Jeff Sessions.

What do you think? Who would you like to see get the position?

Jeff Sessions is out. Old news, I know. It’s not terribly shocking. President Trump has made it abundantly clear that he’s been unhappy with Sessions for basically…forever.

We’ve all been wondering who Trump will choose as his replacement. Any guesses?

CNN seems to think it has a scoop: Chris Christie and Pam Bondi. Both are supposedly under consideration.

President Donald Trump is considering former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to replace fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions, sources familiar with the matter said.

Of course, it’s unclear who those “sources” are.

CNN is already convinced that Christie and Bondi would face serious ethical issues.

On Christie:

If nominated, Christie, a former US attorney, could face similar calls to the ones Sessions faced to recuse himself from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation given his role as a prominent 2016 campaign surrogate for Trump. But unlike Sessions, there is no indication he had contacts with Russian officials during the 2016 campaign or transition.

And on Bondi:

Bondi could face significant hurdles to confirmation over a controversy surrounding the $25,000 contribution her political action committee received from Trump’s foundation during her 2014 re-election bid. Although a Florida ethics panel cleared Bondi of wrongdoing last year, her acceptance of the donation came under scrutiny because her office was at the time investigating Trump University for alleged fraud.

Again– this is purely speculation at this point. Who knows if the “sources” leaked the correct info.

“There are many people in contention for that position just because there are many qualified people who would like to do it,” Kellyanne Conway told reporters Thursday.

Florida Recount Underway, Guess Who Hasn’t BEGUN Recounting

As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service in the world, RWN offers the following information published by: Chicks On The Right

The Florida recount is underway. At least, it should be underway. Results are due Thursday, but one county hasn’t even STARTED its recount yet. Take a wild guess.

Broward County? DING DING DING we have a winner!

I don’t even know why I’m surprised.

Two days after state officials ordered a statewide recount in three key races that ended within razor-thin margins, Broward County elections officials said Monday they have not yet started their recount of more than 700,000 ballots it must tally before Thursday’s deadline.

Broward Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes said she was not concerned that her office would not meet its deadline, even if the start of the recount is delayed until Tuesday morning.

“No, there is not” any concern, said Snipes, whose headquarters in Lauderhill were once again surrounded Monday by a small crowd of protesters critical of the elections chief and her competence to serve.

Ridiculous. For crying out loud, Miami-Dade is practically done.

By noon on Monday, Miami-Dade managed to recount about half of the more than 800,000 votes cast in the 2018 election. Broward County had not yet started its state-mandated recount.

The stark contrast in pace from Florida’s two largest sources of ballots highlights the pressure facing Broward as it tries to meet a Thursday afternoon deadline to recount the more than 700,000 votes cast in the largely Democratic county.

Broward County is ridiculous.

Former Facebook Security Chief Just Blindsided Google CEO With Earth Shattering Claim

Many have been critical of Google’s plan to launch a censored search engine in China, now a former Facebook executive has called out Google’s CEO for lying about the company’s motives.
Facebook’s former security chief Alex Stamos took to Twitter recently to attack Google CEO Sundar Pichai for his comments defending the company’s decision to move into the China market with its censored search engine known as “Project Dragonfly,” Silicon Beat reports.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Pichai stated that Google was “committed to serving users in China” and compared Chinese censorship laws to the “right to be forgotten” law in the European Union. Pichai received severe criticism for this comparison, both internally and from those outside of Google.

“Tech companies constantly walk a difficult path between complying with local law and protecting human rights,” Stamos tweeted Thursday. “For Sundar to compare the “right to be forgotten” (which I agree is problematic) with censorship in China is, at best, amoral and mendacious.”

Stamos further added that: “China’s censorship regime is a tool to maintain the absolute control of the party-state and is in no way comparable,” to the right to be forgotten law.

Google software engineer Colin McMillen tweeted: “It is extremely bad that Sundar appears to either think that RTBF is morally equivalent to government surveillance & censorship, or that he appears to think that nobody will notice this analogy is extremely inaccurate.”
