Never, ever ask a question of President Trump that you don’t want a blunt, honest answer to. The crisis on the southern border was not created by Trump. It has been simmering for decades and our leaders just kept kicking it down the road for the next administration to deal with. The Democrats loved that because it made it possible for them to further their open borders agenda. They almost did it too under Barack Obama. If they had succeeded in throwing our borders open, thereby destroying our sovereignty, they would have had millions of illegal immigrants who would have become leftist voters overnight and would keep the Democrats in power possibly forever. If Hillary Clint had been elected, that would have been a reality.
Then President Trump came on the scene and turned the left’s dreams of conquering America for Marxists into ash. And things just aren’t going the way the Democrats have demanded. On Monday, after a U.S. District Court judge rejected the Trump administration’s request to amend the Flores agreement of 1997 to keep illegal immigrant families together, President Trump was asked about a “solution” to the longstanding southern border issue. He didn’t hesitate in answering either: “Tell people not to come to our country illegally. That’s the solution,” Trump stated. That was the perfect response.
“Don’t come to our country illegally,” continued the president. “Come like other people do, come legally. I’m saying this very simply: We have laws, we have borders; don’t come to our country illegally. It’s not a good thing.” Then Trump shredded Democrats for their ‘Abolish ICE’ crusade. “The people who are fighting ICE — it’s a disgrace. These people go into harm’s way. There is nobody under greater danger than the people from ICE,” he said. Trump was making a point of the agents’ responsibility to handle MS-13, who is a dangerous, murderous immigrant gang. “We ought to support ICE, not do what the Democrats are doing,” continued Trump.
“Well, I have a solution: Tell people not to come to our country illegally. That's the solution: Don't come to our country illegally. Come like other people do—come legally. I'm saying this very simply: We have laws, we have borders. Don't come to our country illegally.” pic.twitter.com/kiwB8rJVDl

“Democrats want open borders and they don’t want crime. We want no crime and we want borders,” Trump stated. “And remember this,” said Trump before taking off, “without borders, you do not have a country.” He is absolutely right and I have said that very same thing for many years now. If Democrats insist on making ‘Abolish ICE’ their 2020 campaign slogan, they will lose big time. Three-quarters of Americans want secure borders and legal immigration. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) has called for the abolition of ICE and top prospective Democratic presidential candidates Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) have been making similarly radical calls. Many other Democrats, celebrities, and leftists have followed suit. They don’t know a catastrophically losing horse when they see one.
None of this should even be an issue. It’s incredibly simple… if you want to come to the U.S., do so legally. Follow the law. But the left insists on having no regard for the Rule of Law, police, the military or agencies such as ICE. That makes them criminals as well and in my book, they should be treated as such. President Trump has a spine of steel and is standing firm on the border issue. He means what he says and he says what he means. It’s not rocket science.
I love the way that Steven Crowder approaches this subject:
“America already has a legal immigration policy in place, which takes into account refugees. So everyone in media, and everyone not in media, crying rivers of tears over how ILLEGAL immigrants are treated, need to find a body of water. Even a puddle will do. Examine the water closely. Check for mosquitoes. Then dive head first into it. Breathe it in. Deeply.
“Trump’s biggest campaign talking point was to build the wall, to stem the flow of illegal immigrants flooding across our borders. Trump got elected. Trump, from most appearances at least, is trying to do something about illegal immigration. While the media splatters its feelings all over television, the internet, and onto every squishy-spined, thoughtless dolt who will carry their message. But America has borders and immigration laws for a reason. If you’re an illegal immigrant who doesn’t like those laws, tough toenails. Cry about them in your own country. Leave ours for people willing to follow laws.”
We are a nation of laws and always have been. Keep families together, no argument here, just deport them together, or better yet, don’t allow them entry in the first place. My son-in-law from Denmark came here legally. It took a few years and he was separated from my daughter for a bit, but we followed the rules and the law and he came here legally. He’s now a real American citizen. It took effort and the desire to do so, something most illegal aliens lack. I have personally offered to help mentor a number of them so they can become citizens, but they want no part of it. They’d rather live off free benefits and pretend they still live in their country of origin.
Trump is right: if you want to come here, then do it legally or don’t bother at all.
