Widow Of Fallen Cop Just Left Nike Speechless And Kaepernick Humiliated With One Photo

Published

on

Once considered a promising professional athlete with an NFL career ahead of him, former San Francisco Forty-Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick chose activism instead. Claiming he was standing up for racial injustice and inequality, Kaepernick chose to sit and then later kneel during the National Anthem.

“Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything,” reads the text scrawled across a black-and-white photograph of Kaepernick’s face with a minuscule “Just Do It” and Nike swoosh logo hovering over his stubbled chin. The implications are clear. Yet, Kaepernick will allegedly make significantly MORE money as a Nike spokesman than he ever would have made as a backup quarterback for a midmarket NFL team. The idea that Kaepernick “sacrificed everything” or anything at all is simply laughable. The man is no martyr.

Instead of being relegated to obscurity, Nike chose to renew Kaepernick’s contract making him the spokesman for the 30 year anniversary of their “Just Do It” campaign. America erupted in fury at the continued disrespect to America’s military, first responders, and the police continued unabated. The twist of irony completely missed by the social justice warriors, by Nike, and by Kaepernick himself is that while Kaepernick is kneeling for “injustice” and allowing his visage to be used as an advertisement, Nike continues to exploit children and women in sweatshops to make their products for pennies a day in third world countries according to a watchdog group.

Sherry Potter, the widow of fallen police officer Tim Graham, could not take it the hypocrisy and disrespect any longer. After Nike’s announcement this week, she took her outrage to social media, posting an open letter to Nike on Facebook that instantly humiliated Kaepernick and left Nike speechless in the process.

Potter has a deep and fundamental understanding of exactly what it means to sacrifice everything. In 2005 she was newly married with two young children when she received a knock on her door that would change her life forever. She answered the door to find a person on the other side of the door informing her that her that police officer husband had died in the line of duty.  They had just celebrated their one-month wedding anniversary the day before.

With her open letter, she posted a picture of the worn old Nike hat she had donned on her runs for the last 13 years as she tried desperately to regain her sanity from the horrible heartwrenching grief.

In a now-viral post, Sherry writes –

Dear Nike,

I want to have a conversation about this hat. It’s over 13 years old. I don’t remember when I bought it exactly, I don’t remember where I bought it. But what I do remember is why I wore it.

On August 10, 2005, I was a newlywed with two young sons. My husband Tim and I had toasted our one month anniversary the night before, and I was enjoying a rare evening to myself, catching up on reading and relishing the quiet. Until there was a knock on my door. I had no way of knowing that the small act of turning a knob was about to shatter my life into a million pieces.

I sat numb and in sheer disbelief as I was told that my husband, while in a foot pursuit and subsequent struggle with a suspect that ended up in the road, had been struck and killed by an oncoming vehicle. He took his last breath lying in the middle of the street.

What I lost in that moment is indescribable. I had to watch his mother be dealt the most agonizing blow a parent can face, and I couldn’t comfort her because I was in my own hell. I had to find a way to gut my own children in the gentlest way possible, and tell them that this man they had come to love, who they looked up to, who cared for them as his own, would never walk through our door again.

I don’t know if you’ve ever attended a police funeral, but watching grown men who’ve seen the absolute worst things a civilian can imagine, break down and sob over the casket of their brother is an image that never leaves you. The bagpipes haunt my dreams to this day, but it was the faces of my children, the innocence that abandoned them at such a tender age that brought me to my knees.

I had no choice but to move on. We trudged zombie-like through our days for weeks and weeks on end. I never left the house except to drive the boys to school, or buy food we barely touched. I realized that I had to do something. I had to move my body or I was going to crawl out of my own skin. So I put on the only cap I had and I went for a run. It was short, it hurt and it was ugly. But I felt, just for those few moments on that road, like a normal person. So I kept doing it.

I put that hat on and I ran every day.

Sometimes I had to stop and sit down because I was sobbing so hard. Sometimes I was so angry I ran until I thought I my heart would stop, sometimes I would just scream over and over again, but it still felt better than doing nothing. hat black cap became a symbol to me, it is sweat stained and it’s shape is gone, the buckle in the back barely closes; but that hat represents my family’s rise from the ashes. It stands for the strength and the sacrifice we made loving a man who had a job that we all knew could end his life, every time he walked out that door. And it did. And I accept that.

Dear Nike,I want to have a conversation about this hat. It's over 13 years old. I don't remember when I bought it…

I still wear this hat, I wore it on my run this morning.
And then I heard about your new ad campaign.

Colin Kapernick has the absolute right to protest anything he damn well pleases. I don’t dispute that for one second. My father, my husband and many, many friends have all served this country and were willing to fight for his right to kneel.

But that right goes both ways. I also have a right to express my disgust at your decision to portray him as some kind of hero. What, exactly has Colin Kapernick sacrificed? His multi million dollar paycheck…? Nope, you already gave him one of those. His reputation? No, he’s been fawned over by celebrities and media alike. Funny, Tim Tebow was never called courageous when he knelt.

This man, whose contempt for law enforcement fits him like a…sock, has promoted an agenda that has been proven false time and time again, in study after study. But facts don’t seem to matter anymore. This man has thrown his support behind divisive anti-police groups, and donated money directly to a fugitive from justice who escaped prison after killing a police officer.

I question the judgement of anyone who would put someone this controversial and divisive at the head of an advertising campaign, but it isn’t my company to run.

I don’t know if I’ll have he heart to ever get rid of this cap, but I will tell you this, I’ll never purchase another Nike product as long as I live. You got this one wrong Nike, terribly, terribly wrong.

Real American Tom Selleck Has Had Enough Of Rosie Trashing Trump, Hits Her Where It Hurts

Rosie O’Donnell tends to stick her foot in her mouth every time she opens it. It’s as if her foot was metal, and her mouth is a magnet. I guess it’s better than having her head shove where the sun doesn’t shine. It’s no surprise that O’Donnell is as far left as they come. She has made many inflammatory remarks on subjects she really doesn’t have a clue about. You can only imagine what her morning routine must be like. Waking up, pissed off looking in the mirror and pointing at herself ” You can do it, Rosie, Republicans are the enemy, You’re a Goddess”. I’ve got news for Rosie, there isn’t a bone in my body that thinks you’re a Goddess.

Day after day, night after night Rosie takes to Twitter and attacks President Trump, as well as his 62 million supporters.

I think it’s time Rosie is locked up in a mental hospital for a very long time because this woman is beyond couch time. No therapist can handle the insanity this woman spews. Rosie, along with 99% of Hollywood are all on the same brain wave, and it’s scary. It’s no surprise Kanye West had a mental breakdown. If I lived in Hollywood I would probably do the same.

The now-canceled “Rosie O’Donnell Show” on NBC allowed Rosie to tell the world just how biased, and hateful she was as a person. It’s no surprise that Rosie’s show was canceled. The saying goes that if you live in Hollywood you can’t be a Conservative or a Gun owner. I think Tom Selleck found that out the hard way. Selleck appeared on the show once to talk about his new movie that was about to hit the big screen. Instead of talking about the show, Rosie decided to corner, and interrogate Mr. Selleck for appearing in an NRA commercial.

Via Capitalist Magazine:

In left-leaning Hollywood, one could more safely come out of the closet and admit to child molestation than a support of the Second Amendment. For Selleck’s colossal sin of being in Hollywood and conservative, the “Queen of Nice” jumped on Selleck the way Jeffrey Dahmer attacks a Chateaubriand.

O’Donnell: “But you can’t say that guns don’t bear responsibility. … Why would the NRA be against assault rifles? This is a gun that can shoot five bullets in a second. This is the gun that those boys brought into the school. Why the NRA doesn’t say as a matter of compromise: ‘We agree. Assault weapons are not good.’”

Selleck: “I can’t speak for the NRA –”

O’Donnell: “But you’re their spokesperson, Tom. You have to be responsible for what they say.”

Selleck: “I’m not a spokesperson –”

O’Donnell: “… But you can’t say that ‘I will not take responsibility for anything the NRA represents’ if you’re saying that you’re gonna do an ad for the NRA.”

Selleck: “… You’re carefully skirting the issue. It’s an act of moral vanity, Rosie, to assume that someone who disagrees with your political agenda to solve our problems cares any less or is any less –”

O’Donnell: “I never said you cared less. Tom, I don’t think you care less. Nor do I think the men in the NRA cared less. … I simply said, why can there not be a compromise?”

Selleck: “There is a compromise. There’s a compromise in enforcing laws, there’s a compromise in not allowing kids with guns in schools. The problem is, and what you don’t seem to realize. … Look, we all hang out with people we agree with, and you have a very one-sided view of the fact, but what you don’t understand –”

O’Donnell: “As does the NRA, and the people you hang out within the NRA have a one-sided view, as well.”

Had O’Donnell allowed him to speak, Selleck might have mentioned that people use guns perhaps as often as 1 million times per year for defensive purposes, undoubtedly preventing large numbers of murders.

Selleck might have said that Scotland and Ireland, countries with tough gun laws, have higher murder rates than the United States. Or that Switzerland, with a per-capita gun ownership higher than ours, has a lower murder rate.

Or that studies show that a woman who resists her attacker with a gun stands a better chance of avoiding injury or death. Or that convicted felons, when polled, say they are less likely to attack an armed person or enter a house where a gun is present. Or that Rosie O’Donnell does commercials for K-Mart, where one can purchase a rifle.

A piece of work, emotional liberals. – Capitalist Magazine

The NRA has been attacked for years for standing up to the Federal Government and making sure our Second Amendment rights are protected. There is no greater cause by the left than the one to take our Gun Rights away. The progressives know that as long as we keep in bare arms they can not control our lives like they want. Over the last four decades they have slowly started to disarm us, but with the election of Donald J. Trump, their efforts have failed. President Trump spoke at the National NRA Convention in Dallas, Texas this week. It’s nice to see someone in high office standing up for the rights given to us by God.

Melania Just Named Possible ‘Greatest First Lady Ever’ After She Makes Legendary Announcement

This is unbelievable. It’s like the world might be coming to an end! No… Not really!

In an op-ed piece titled “Melania Trump, Could Be Our Greatest First Lady,” which was written by a known Trump-hater like the majority of so-called journalists from the New York Time is bound to raise eyebrows.

Here is the article via The New York Times:

“Maybe someday, when the history of Donald Trump’s presidency is written, we’ll pinpoint the start of this week as his pivot into complete derangement and come up with a pithy name for it. Maybe we’ll call it Melania Monday.

Trending: Libs Furious At What Trump Dared To Say Instead Of Paying Tribute To Dying John McCain

We’ll note that on Aug. 20, 2018, the first lady, again with a pussy bow, publicly chided cyberbullies at the same time that her husband ranted and raged on Twitter, likening Robert Mueller to Joseph McCarthy and demonstrating a grasp of history commensurate with his grip on civility.

We’ll admire the wickedness of her announcement, just hours later, that she’d be making a solo trip — her farthest and flashiest yet as an official ambassador — to Africa, whose nations the president can’t pronounce, let alone respect. She didn’t choose that destination randomly, throwing a dart at a map. She chose it defiantly, throwing shade at her husband.

Surely Melania Trump is getting under his skin. Certainly she’s making the effort. If she would just turn these fitful baby steps into full-length strides, she might finally undo him and set us free. Melania the Savior. A pussy-bow coup. Stranger things have happened. Less exhilarating fantasies have been born.

And is it really so far-fetched? To judge by his tweets, tantrums and apparent belief that Rudy Giuliani is an appropriate advocate, Donald Trump teeters at the precipice of incoherence and self-destruction, needing only a shove. Who best to administer it but a spouse with her own, separate bedroom in the White House and her own, separate hotel suite when they travel?

She inches ever closer to open contempt for him. She finds increasingly clever ways to show it. And it’s a perfect wedding of patriotism and payback for all the humiliations that he has heaped on her.

This first-lady thing clearly flummoxed her at first. It’s a ludicrous job. You’re supposed to make a difference without making waves, find a passion while veiling your convictions and smile blithely through a ceaseless forensic examination of your every accessory.

It’s infantilizing. It’s objectifying. If a presidential administration were a sedan, the first lady would be its hood ornament. If it were a manse, she’d be the topiary bracketing the front stoop.

Usually Melania Trump was absent topiary. America had a denuded front stoop. And we made hasty assumptions. When she initially announced her anti-cyberbullying campaign in a speech in November 2016, we thought that she was out to lunch. Did she not see the contradiction?

For the president’s first State of the Union address, she wore a white pantsuit that served as a sartorial reminder of suffragists and of Hillary Clinton. This month, after he questioned LeBron James’s intelligence in a tweet, her spokeswoman released a statement that asserted the first lady’s admiration for James’s work with at-risk children in his hometown, Akron, Ohio. Melania was possibly interested in visiting the school there that James had helped to start, the statement said.

And my colleagues Katie Rogers and Maggie Haberman recently reported that during a trip overseas last month, the president had a fit because the first lady’s television on Air Force One was tuned to CNN, not his beloved Fox News. Was CNN an accident or a provocation? Well, in a public response to the incident, Melania’s spokeswoman made clear that the first lady watches “any channel she wants.”

I’m not sure what to make of that “I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?” jacket that she wore on her way to a detention center for migrant children in Texas. It’s the “rosebud” of our time. But what if the message was that she didn’t mind if we interpreted her behavior as a rebuke of her husband’s?

Marriage as psyops — it’s not virgin territory, but the stage and stakes here are epic. On Monday, as The Washington Post’s James Hohmann noted, she used the phrase “global society” in both her spoken remarks about cyberbullying and her written remarks about the trip to Africa, which she praised for its “rich culture.” Her husband, of course, treats “globalists” and “globalism” as dirty words, and some of his “shithole countries” are on that richly cultured continent. She’ll be going there without him.

Other first ladies beautified highways, promoted reading, planted squash. This one could abbreviate a nightmare. She’s in a situation that her predecessors weren’t, on the arm of an overlord who needs undermining, and it’s her invitation to greatness, or at least her prompt for an itinerary tailored to taunt.

I urge that visit to James’s school. Bring Don Lemon along. I suggest lunch dates with Maxine Waters, Aperol spritzes with Angela Merkel and pajama parties with Nancy Pelosi. And pussy bows and pantsuits for days on end. They’re the threads of a revolution.”

Don’t be fooled, if you took the time the time to stomach reading the whole article above you will see it’s not an actual praise of anything. It’s just one more mere try to take down our President. The man the majority of us voted for in the 2016 election. But what perhaps makes this article special is that he comes at him by forwarding a conspiracy theory which actually claims First Lady Melania Trump is trying to get under her husband’s skin. That she has contempt for him and if only she would turn it up a notch “she might finally undo him and set us free.”

Free us from what? A world without ISIS? Peace in the Korean Peninsula? An unemployment rate not seen in decades? An economy which the CEO of Target calls “the best I’ve seen in my career?” A GDP which former President Barack Hussein Obama said was unattainable in today’s world? A consumer confidence not seen since the 90’s? Is this the evil they want to rid us from?

I think we can all rest assured that if Hillary Clinton didn’t have contempt for Bill, and Jackie Kennedy didn’t have contempt for John, President Trump has nothing to worry about since he has done nothing compared to what those two characters put their wives through.

The author of this piece, Frank Bruni has been with The Times since 1995 and has actually held a variety of jobs in the field of journalism, which in today’s world seems to have open contempt for people like you and I. He was White House reporter, Rome bureau chief, and chief restaurant critic before becoming a columnist in 2011 for the NYT. Maybe he should just stick to being a restaurant critic, which I am sure he didn’t excel at either outside of his own elitist circles.
